I first observed this when I first got into real estate in 2015 selling new construction & sourcing land at Village Real Estate. The best looking & best designed homes sold for more & sold faster. Later on, as I moved into design & development, I saw the same thing with Short Term Rentals - better looking properties with better amenities had greater occupancy and rented at higher rates.
People are starving for tasteful, curated and unique experiences. They want to FEEL different when they walk into your house, STR, apartment…whatever it is. Design is the art of creating Feeling. After stumbling around in the dark for years, I started to notice patterns and principles of why certain things feel a certain way. When I began sharing these online, people responded, and I found myself where I am today - teaching design, consulting & creating aesthetics-forward real estate projects.
