things I saw this week that I liked
I just discovered serpentine created by Eric Warheim. Talk about a guy who has had an interesting life. An indie musician, then a famous actor & comedian, most notably in Tim & Eric Awesome Show; he also co-founded Las Jaras natural wines and is a foodie with two books.
Serpentine is a plant-and-sculpture gallery that's recently been making waves. I feel totally magnetized by this kind of thing.
Something like this is absolutely in my future, whether it's a house or an actual content studio/gallery space. A sprawling open room with an interesting ceiling, natural light, and a bunch of different vignettes constantly changing with the inventory. The dream compound.

I saw this post about color schemes of Moths. I need to make a video about this. Rooms inspired by Moths hehe.
Not quite fully baked, but definitely interesting!
I saw this video of waves, you should watch it. It's turned sideways, so it's as if the waves are washing up a wall. Aside from the incredible sparkle of the lighting, I think this speaks to the immense power of context.
We all look at a lot of radically beautiful things every day and completely take them for granted because we've seen them before. When you change the context, here by simply rotating your view 90 degrees, it's remarkable how gorgeous it is.

This is extremely applicable to design. There are so many things we can borrow from restaurants, hospitality, gardens, travel - things that are simply 'not done' in residential. We can take them out of context and do them anyway.
